Short Video by Christian Counselor, Steve Rossi on Do Not Fear the Enemiesof God . A Biblical perspective. "Then someone came and told Jehoshaphat, saying A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in the Hazazon Tamar (which is En Gedi)." (2 Chronicles 20:2) "And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah." (2 Chronicles 20:2)A little fear is good. Should we have blind courage against opposition that would surly destroy us? This is not anti Christian, its called awareness of our limitations and what could happen if we operate outside God's protection. God wants us to walk by faith not by sight, but He also wants us to realize that we must give credit where credit is due in dealing with overwhelming circumstances. We just can't do this thing in our own strength. We should not walk around with crippling fear but we must size up the situation and respond in God's strength. What do you think would have happened to Jehoshaphat if he did nothing and just waited for the Lord to fight this terrific battle? Probably nothing. We must realize the end of ourselves before we can call on the name of God to deliver us from this mighty peril! The end of ourselves, our own abilities, ushers in the beginning of Almighty God's salvation and deliverance from evil. A little fear reminds us that we have come to the end of ourselves. We must not fear our enemies because they are the enemies of God. We can let our discomfort (a little fear) in situations like these drive us to God. Jehoshaphat knew what to do. He set himself to seek the Lord. He also proclaimed a fast throughout the land to bring everyone, including himself into the sober, submission to the Lord. What will you do today or tomorrow when you look out onto the horizon a see a formidable destructive force coming against you and your family? What will do if your closet friends call on you to help them against such a force?I pray that you will take that "little fear" and present your impossible to Jesus Christ Who turns your impossible to the possible in Him. Lord, help my brother or sister in You face this evil adversary and let him or her see Your Mighty Hand lay their enemies to waste! Protect them, my God, I pray in Jesus name, Amen. |
